Vintage 1961 Buffet Crampon R13 Clarinet

One of several intermediate and professional clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a Buffet Crampon R13 Bb clarinet.  S/n 661XX makes this a vintage 1961 horn.  It is in excellent condition:  wood body is a well-aged billet of grenadilla with a tight, straight grain, no chips or cracks, and square tenons with no wobble between joints.  Nickel silver keys in don’t polish up as shiny as nickel plate, but also don’t wear and are in good condition.  Best of all, this has just been through the shop in December, 2025 where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, hand polished, lubed, had all new tenon corks installed, and was repadded with Valentino Master’s Series synthetic pads—one of the quietest, most reliable pads available.  Plays nicely across all registers with an open feel, huge, dark tone excellent projection, and a soft, even feel to the keys.  Key oil and cork grease are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a new SuperSlick chamois swab, new ProTec microfiber cloth, and the original reed case with three vintage reeds.  All in the original case which is worn and missing the handle, but in a good ProTec zippered case cover with some wear and stains, but structurally intact and giving you extra room for music, accessories, etc.  (We have other cases for sale separately if you prefer, but I wanted to keep the original with the clarinet.)  One of the earliest Buffet R13’s you find, overhauled and ready to play!
