Vintage 1964 Mt. Vernon NY Bach Stradivarius 43 Trumpet!

Vintage 1964 Mt. Vernon NY Bach Stradivarius 43 Trumpet!

Mt. Vernon Bach Stradivarius trumpet for sale!  This is a 18043—an ML .459 bore horn with a 43 bell and 25 leadpipe.  S/n 263XX makes it 1964.  It is in near-perfect condition.  There are no significant dents or dings. No signs of repair, dent work, or red rot.  Interior is nice and clean.  For that matter, it looks like this horn has had a complete restoration by a high-end shop, and hardly played since.  The shop card shows that it was originally a lacquered instrument, and it has been beautifully silver plated almost certainly by Anderson.  The silver plate is near-perfect with just the lightest scratches from careful use. The serialized valves are original to the horn, and the compression is near perfect:  it measures 0.5-0.6 on the magnehelic with plain old Al Cass oil (and would probably be perfect with Hetman #3), and the slides still move in and out on their own under pressure.  Either it was hardly ever played, or one of the valve specialists did a $600 complete rebuild and refit.  (I’ve reached out to the three most likely to see if they have records of this serial.)  It has very new top felts and composite (Gore-Tex?) piston felts, and new tuning slide O-rings and water key cork.  All tuning slides are free, including the third-valve end slide.  Has a first-valve trigger which works perfectly.  Comes in what is likely the original case—itself in near-perfect condition—with a newer case cover, but I have the original case cover if you prefer.  I'm limited here with the number of photographs, but a few more are available on eBay and Reverb.  This is absolutely the nicest New York Strad you will ever see, and just in time for that tax refund!
