Vintage 1969 Buffet Crampon Clarinet

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a Buffet Crampon R13 Bb horn in silver.  S/n 108XXX makes this a vintage 1969—just a few years into Buffet’s Golden Era and a very desirable period.  It is in exceptional condition:  wood is a lovely billet of aged grenadilla with a tight, straight grain and no chips, cracks or repairs.  Silver plated rather than nickel (a $340 upgrade!) about 99.5% with little if any wear at all.  And unlike most of the used R13’s you might be looking at, this one is just through the shop where it was bore oiled, had all the tenon corks replaced, and was repadded with Valentino Master’s Series synthetic pads—a super reliable, super soft, and super quiet pad.  Plays nicely from top to bottom with a huge, dark sound and an open feel.  Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include the Buffet reed case, one reed, a new ProTec microfiber cloth, and the original paperwork, which has amazingly survived and accompanied this clarinet for decades.  All in a like-new case with zippered case cover.  A great clarinet in great condition from one of the most sought-after periods in Buffet history, and almost $2,500 less than new!
