Vintage 1973 Buffet Crampon R13A Clarinet--New Master's Pads

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a Buffet Crampon R13A (key of A) clarinet.  S/n 139XXX makes this a vintage 1973—right in the sweet spot of Buffet’s Golden Era.  It is in exceptional condition:  wood is a great billet of aged grenadilla with a tight, straight grain, no chips cracks or repairs, and squared-off tenons with no wobble between joints.  Nickel plating about 99% with little if any wear at all.  Just through the shop where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, hand polished, lubed, and had all new Valentino Master’s Series synthetic pads installed.  Plays delightfully across the entire instrument with a soft feel to the keywork, little resistance, and a huge, dark tone with lots of projection. No mouthpiece, but we do have dozens for sale separately, along with other barrels, bells, and cases!  Comes in the very nice Buffet plush double clarinet case which is also in excellent condition.  Sells new for a whopping $4,525 at M&A, so save about $2,000 and get one of the nicest you’ll find online from one of the most sought-after periods ever!
