Vintage 1974 Buffet Crampon R13 Clarinet

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a Buffet Crampon R13 Bb clarinet in nickel.  S/n 147XXX makes this a vintage 1974, right in the sweet spot of Buffet’s Golden Era and just a year before their 150th anniversary.  It is in good condition:  the upper was cracked and repaired in the best possible way with carbon fiber banding years ago, seals perfectly, and should never be a problem.  Small sliver off the edge of the middle tenon which is just cosmetic.  Nickel plating about 99% with just a bit of wear starting, but still bright and shiny as you can see in the photos.  Obviously had a pro overhaul within the past few years—the upper mostly in long-lasting cork and synthetic pads, and we just redid the lower in white kid leather, along with bore oiling, adjusting, lubricating, and installing two new tenon corks.  Plays super nicely with a dark, rich tone, open feel and huge sound like you might expect from a 70’s Buffet.  Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a new ProTec microfiber cloth, new SuperSlick chamois swab, three reeds, Conn mouthpiece, vintage Luyben ligature, and Buffet cap.  All in a very nice Kaces case.  A great Buffet from one of the best years ever, and hundreds less than most of our others!
