Vintage 1977 Buffet Crampon R13 Bb Clarinet

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale. This is a vintage Buffet Crampon R13 Bb clarinet in nickel plate. S/n 175XXX makes it 1977, right at the end of their Golden Era and one of the most sought-after periods ever. This one is in very good condition: wood body is an excellent billet of aged grenadilla with a tight, straight grain and a repair at the lower socket as seen in the photos (repaired years ago and probably good for life), but no other chips, cracks or repairs. Nickel plating about 99.5% with little if any wear at all. The lower had last been overhauled with a very good synthetic pad and are still in such good condition that we saw no reason to replace them, and we just completely redid the upper joint in August, 2026 with new Valentino Master's Series synthetic pads—one of the longest-lasting, most reliable pads available. Regulated well and plays very nicely across the entire instrument with a very dark, full tone compared to some of our other R13's. Key oil, bore oil and cork grease are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include the new ProTec microfiber cloth and new SuperSlick chamois swab. All in the original case, which is the same as used for the 150th Anniversary Edition two years earlier! A great clarinet from a great period at about $3,000 less than new!
