Vintage Antoine Courtois Silver Flugelhorn

One of several intermediate and professional flugelhorns we are offering for sale. This is a vintage Antoine Courtois Bb flugel. S/n 77XX and the logo make it roughly 1950-1960, though there are no accurate serial lists available. It is in excellent condition: Silver plate about 99.5% with just a little bit of wear. Scattered light scratches and imperfections from past dent removals mostly along the top of the bell bow as seen in the photos. Just through the shop where it was chem cleaned, detergent cleaned, lubed, polished, and had new pistons felts and water key corks installed. All tuning slides are free, bottom-sprung valves are fast and smooth with no problems. Note that this is oiled with synthetic oil, and you should use the same or thoroughly clean the pistons and casings before switching to a petroleum-based product. Comes in what is likely the original case, in good condition except the springs for the latch buttons are broken and there is a tendency for the latches to spring open, so we just have a nylon clip strap around it for added security. If you prefer, we have a Reunion Blues black leather gig bag or a new ProTec combo case for sale separately, but the original case works fine and and is right for the horn. No mouthpiece included, but we have several for sale separately, including a Courtois 3 that works very nicely with this one. A great instrument in great condition for anyone looking for that smooth, buttery, mellow tone typical of French flugels!
