Vintage Bach Stradivarius LT18037 37* Trumpet

One of several professional trumpets we are offering for sale.  This one is a Bach Stradivarius Bb LT18037—a bit upgraded from the standard Strad with a 37 bell, ML bore, 25 leadpipe, and a lightweight valve block and body making it a super-responsive horn with great projection. S/n 117XXX makes it roughly 1976—a vintage horn from one of the most desirable Bach periods.  It is in very good condition:  lacquer about 90% with scattered wear and very small imperfections left over from past dent removals throughout its life, but no significant dents currently and no sign of significant repairs.  Some customized the third-valve stop rod for reasons unknown, and it does work fine, and put a classy pearl know on the second-valve tuning slide.  Just through the shop where it was chem cleaned, detergent cleaned, lubed, polished, and had all new tuning slide O-rings, stop rod bumper, piston felts and water key cork installed.  Valves are fast and smooth and quiet.  All tuning slides free including the third-valve dump slide.  Plays very nicely from top to bottom—a more lively and brighter horn than a standard 37 with great flexibility and slotting.  Note that this horn is oiled with synthetic valve oil, and you should use the same or thoroughly clean the pistons and casings prior to switching to a petroleum-based product.  Valve oil and tuning slide grease are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a polishing cloth, lyre, mouthpiece brush and new ProTec leather finger saver.  All in the original case with moderate wear but structurally sound.  A hard-to-find variant from a great period, and about $2,000 less than new!
