Vintage Buffet Crampon R16-3/4 R13 Full Boehm Clarinet

One of the coolest Buffet Crampon clarinets we are offering for sale!  This is a vintage R13 full-Boehm clarinet, otherwise known as an R16-3/4.  It includes a bunch of keys not found on typical clarinets:  low Eb, auxilliary left Eb/Ab lever, extra trills, articulated C#, forked Eb mechanism (very handy!) and probably a few others I'm forgetting.  S/n F66XXX makes it 1961, and it looks shockingly newer:  wood body is a great billet of grenadilla with a very short crack in the lower socket that has been repaired so nicely you cannot see it at all, and likely never would have known it was there.  The socket is metal lined making the crack non-weightbearing, and it is unlikely ever to be a problem.  No other cracks, chips, or repairs.  Nickel plating about 99.5% with little if any wear at all--practically unheard of on a 60's Buffet.  Best of all, it is just through the shop where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, lubed, hand polished, had all new tenon corks installed, and was repadded in a combination of Ferree's B17 de'Jur double-bladder, pressed-felt pads, Ferree's premium cork pads, and I think one Valentino Master's Series where we wanted a lighter touch.  Plays very well across the entire instrument with typyical Buffet intonation--a little flat for me, but pretty consistent across the registers so I think it's just me.  (We also have dozens of barrels for sale separately, and a Moennig or ICON would lock the tuning right in.) Big, full-bodied, dark tone, and open feel and an even feel across the keywork--though the ergonomics of the extra keys take some getting used to, as do all the alternate fingerings which are available. Includes a vintage Buffet mouthpiece on a Riffault blank in a C facing. Comes in the original case which is also in very good condition.  A hard-to-find clarinet from a great period in amazing condition!
