Vintage N-Series Selmer Paris A Clarinet--New Synthetic Pads!
One of several A clarinets we are offering for sale. This is a vintage Selmer, France professional clarinet in the key of A. S/n N52XX makes it 1949, and the N-series clarinets are one of the most sought-after ever, especially among jazz musicians. It is in excellent condition: one repaired crack in the bell, but no other chips, cracks or pins. Nickel plating about 99.5% with little if any wear at all. Logos are all nice and fresh. Upper tenon has a metal tenon cap which looks original, but I’m not certain. Best of all, this one is just through the shop where it was bore oiled, had all new tenon corks installed, and was repadded with Tru-Seal synthetic pads—a long-lasting, U.S.-made pad which is resistant to moisture and pad bugs and should be trouble free for ages. This plays very nicely across all ranges with a soft touch, very little resistance, and a big, dark tone with lots of projection. Comes in what is likely the original case which is also in good condition. A great A clarinet from one of Selmer’s best periods ever and in the best condition you’ll find available!
