Vintage Selmer Bb/A Clarinets--Repadded & Serviced!
Two of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale. This is a pair of vintage Selmer France clarinets in Bb and A. There are some inconsistencies in the published serial number lists, but both likely date from the 1920’s and have the old-style oval Selmer logo. Sold here as a pair.

$899 Selmer France Bb clarinet s/n 4004. Excellent condition with a very short crack in the barrel that was sealed beautifully and is almost impossible to see from the outside. No other chips or cracks. Upper tenon has been sleeved at some point possibly due to a prior crack or more likely due to a worn tenon; we don’t see any evidence of a crack there. Just through the shop in March, 2026 where it was bore oiled and repadded with Ferree’s double bladder, pressed felt thin pads. Tenon corks and other materials as needed. Regulated very nicely to play easily across the entire instrument with a crisp and easy feel to the keywork.
$1,299 Selmer France A clarinet s/n 316. Excellent condition with a repaired crack in the bell which is so well done that I didn’t even notice it until after handling it for several hours during the overhaul. It is almost impossible to see as seen in the photos. Just through the shop in April, 2026 where it was bore oiled and repadded with Ferree’s double bladder, pressed felt thin pads. Tenon corks and other materials as needed. Regulated very nicely, and plays very easily across the entire instrument with a crisp and easy feel to the keywork. Comes with the pictured double case with moderate wear but in excellent structural condition. Comes with a brand new Kaces double case cover giving you extra padding, weather resistance, lots of pockets and organizers, and a carrying strap—absolutely the nicest case cover available! (And we have these for sale separately as well!)
