Vintage Selmer Paris Series 9 A Clarinet W/ Cork & Leather Overhaul

This example sold July 2024 for $1,679 including tax and shipping.  One of several professional A clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a vintage Selmer Paris Series 9 in A, s/n W51XX, 1970.  Note that this clarinet is in the key of A; if you’re buying for your student needing the more common Bb clarinet, please see our other listings.  It is in excellent condition:  wood is a wonderful billet of grenadilla with no chips, cracks, or repairs, nickel plating about 98% with just a tiny bit of wear.  Just through the shop where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, lubed, and repadded very nicely with white kid leather and cork on the lower, and cork on the upper.  Plays very nicely across all registers with a moderately warm, big tone and balanced intonation and response—this coming from a Buffet guy who’s quite impressed with the competition!  I’ve got this in a Vienna case which is a beater but serviceable. One corner has a broken frame which you could fix just by gluing a block of wood there, but it works fine as is, and we have several other case options available if you prefer.  A great-playing A in the nicest condition you could hope, and the perfect match for the vintage Selmer Bb’s we have available as well!
