Yamaha Bobby Shew 6310Z Flugelhorn W/ GARD Bag!

One of several flugelhorns we are offering for sale. This is a Yamaha 6310Z Bobby Shew in Bb. It is in exceptional condition: Lacquer about 99.5% with little if any wear at all, a couple very tiny marks left over from very minor dent removal, and a few small dents along the pipe right after the third valve, which we decided not to attempt to remove. Just through the shop where it was chem cleaned, polished, lubed, and had new valve guides and water key corks installed. Valves are fast and smooth and quiet with excellent compression. Note that this is the more desirable version with the bottom-sprung valves. Also note that this is oiled with SYNTHETIC (Hetman #1) oil, and you should use the same or thoroughly clean the pistons and casings prior to switching to a petroleum-based oil. All tuning slide and the leadpipe are free. Trigger works fine—a little heavy due to us not having the exact spring, but you can have your local tech pop a new spring on if you prefer a lighter throw. Comes in the included $160 Gard leather gig bag with a rain cover, backpack straps, external zippered pocket, and some pull-out velcroed nylon thing the purpose of which I've never figured out, or we have other case or “no case” options if you'd rather. A mellow, responsive horn without the intonation issues plaguing a lot of the Strads. No mouthpiece included, but we have dozens for sale separately. One of the most sought-after flugels for decades, and getting super hard to find on the used market!
